Thanksgiving Recap

Filed under: Daily Reflections,NaBloPoMo — by sunflowersreflections @ 8:39 pm

Yesterday morning we took of and drove up to Holland, Michigan to spend Thanksgiving with my family.  Bright and early we took off.  Over all, the drive went well, except for the 20ish miles north of the Indiana/Michigan boarder where the weather decided to switch between rain, ice, and snow – every two miles.  Dinner was spend with my parents, grandparents, and several of my aunts, uncles, and cousins.  The crazy thing about my cousins, is the one that is closest in  age to be is five years younger, I remember every single one of my cousins as a baby.  Now several of them are in college, engaged, driving, dating, etc.  It is surreal and it is really exciting to see then grow and develop into young adults.

After dinner, we hung out, played games/pool/cards/basketball, chatted, watched movies, etc.  The day ended with a dinner of sloppy joes/turkey sandwiches, chips, other snacky foods, and more desserts.   Oh, did I mention the whole day was spent at my parents church?

We drove home through a snow storm, but made it back safely.  Picked up our doggies and crashed.  A very long day, but over all not too bad.  How was your day?
