Today the large bandage was taken off of my arm.  (I took a picture of it last week to post, but I can not find the cord to download pictures off of my camera, once I find it…)  I still have the stitches in my elbow and wrist/hand.  My arm and elbow is discolored and bruised.  My elbow is really sore and I am trying to bend and straighten as much as possible.  I am getting there.  Physical therapy starts on Friday.  I can type a sentence or maybe two with both hands – then it starts to hurt.  BUT that is more than a few days ago.

In an unrelated note, I did something tonight that I probably should not have.  I could have gotten hurt or hurt myself, but I had a BLAST.  Took my pain meds before hand, padded up the elbow, and did something we wanted to do for years.  All I can really say, is it was the living end.

  1. “but I can not find the cord to download pictures off of my camera, once I find it…” —- that is what you get for cleaning the house!

    So it was good?

  2. Hello,

Thank you for your posts on cubital tunnel surgery . . . my doctor recommended that I undergo surgery of some form about a year ago, and I am considering finally going through with it. I am trying to find out more about people’s experience with the surgery, and that is why I’m contacting you — I hope you don’t mind.

I have been recommended getting either a submuscular or a subcutaneous transposition, and I am having a hard time deciding which makes the most sense. Did you get one of these? It sounds more like you had an epycondilectomy, but I am not sure. At any rate, how long did it take you to type normally? Would you recommend undergoing the surgery?

Thanks very much for any help you can provide. This is a very scary step for me and I’m trying to find out as much as I can.
